Course description
Dentistry is entering a new era, one where artificial intelligence, advanced diagnostics, and innovative treatment technologies are reshaping how clinicians identify disease, make decisions, and deliver patient care.
This course explores how emerging technologies are transforming the patient experience and clinical workflow. AI-powered diagnostics are helping clinicians detect caries earlier, apply findings more consistently, and communicate them more clearly to patients. That earlier detection opens a new opportunity: treating incipient caries lesions non-invasively, before a traditional restoration is needed. Attendees will see how pairing AI-assisted detection with early, non-invasive intervention can delay the restorative tooth death cycle, or even avoid it altogether, while building clinical confidence and supporting more personalized care.
Through real-world clinical examples and discussion, participants will examine how these technologies complement clinical expertise, support a tooth-preservation treatment philosophy, and help practices prepare for the next generation of dentistry
Learning objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify emerging technologies shaping the future of dentistry, including artificial intelligence, advanced diagnostics, and minimally invasive and non-invasive treatment modalities
- Describe how AI-assisted clinical insights can support diagnostic consistency, clinical decision-making, and effective patient communication.
- Evaluate the role of early, non-invasive intervention for incipient caries lesions in preserving natural tooth structure and delaying or avoiding the restorative tooth death cycle.
- Identify practical strategies for integrating AI-assisted detection and non-invasive caries treatment into clinical workflows while maintaining clinical judgment and evidence-based standards of care.
