Continuing Education
This live, in-person course provides 1 continuing education credit hours. Approved by AGD PACE for 1 CEU. Attendance for the full session is required to receive credit.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming part of the modern dental workflow, creating new opportunities to support clinicians in the detection, documentation, communication, and management of oral disease. At the same time, successful implementation requires an understanding of where AI can add value, where limitations exist, and how technology can complement—not replace—clinical judgment.
This one-hour program explores practical applications of artificial intelligence across the patient and clinician journey, with particular attention to AI-assisted radiographic analysis and voice-enabled clinical documentation. Participants will examine how these technologies may support consistency in clinical assessment, reduce administrative friction, and make complex clinical information easier for patients to understand.
Through clinical examples and case-based discussion, the course will also explore how visual and data-supported communication can help patients better understand their current oral health, recognize changes over time, and participate more actively in decisions regarding prevention, monitoring, and treatment. Emphasis will be placed on using AI-generated information as one component of a comprehensive clinical assessment and on translating clinical findings into understandable conversations that encourage proactive rather than reactive care.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
Live lecture, case-based discussion, and interactive Q&A
Dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other members of the dental care team
